Magic Kingdom- A princess is born! Day 2

Day 2... was Magical Kingdom day! We had planned to be there right when they open but as things work out... once you wait in line to park, and then get a spot, then unload, then forgo the tram because folding everything up is too hard, then walking, then taking the monorail... then walking more... we were LATE.
We were late to meet up with my best friend "The Buddy" and her family. They were waiting out front of the castle for us. She is notoriously late for everything all of the time and I felt terrible that I made them wait! I am always on time. Well... I always am closer to being on time! :)

Planning for the day and what to pack up was tough. We knew that we wouldn't be leaving the park until after the fireworks and near midnight. I packed up lots of snack and fruit and water bottles so that we could just snack throughout the day and could save money by not eating at the park except for dinner. It also saved my kids bellies from hurting because they aren't used to eating a bunch of fast food type items several times a day! (So we made sure not to eat that kind of thing except once a day!)
We were given a guest assistance card to use. This, along with Angelina's magic button allowed us front of the line access to character meetings and rides. What we didn't realize until later in the week was that we needed to go to guest services to get a sticker for the strollers to alert the cast members that we were using the strollers as wheelchairs. Even though we got to skip a lot of the lines we still had to carry or help AJ and Jude quite a bit which was avoided later in the week by being able to take the strollers right in the line with us through the wheelchair entrances. (Something good to mention as this might help someone else!)
There was only once during the week we got some nasty remarks about skipping the line. I am sure that people didn't realize why we got to skip the line and there were a lot of us! But the cast members with the characters were so good about explaining to the people waiting that we were with Make a Wish and that was why we got to skip the line.

The bonus was that we were able to do A LOT of stuff throughout the days in Florida. We really did most everything we wanted to do and then some and had plenty of time left. The beauty of it was that we didn't wear Angelina (and Jude) out too much. (Although we did have an issue that I will talk about later in the trip report.)

It was at Magic Kingdom that Angelina had her actual WISH come true. Her wish was to be "made over into a Disney Princess." Make a Wish made an appointment for Angelina to attend Bibbity Bobbity Boutique in Cinderellas castle. Angelina was SO beside herself that it was her time to shine. But she was also walking very slowly and admitted that she was feeling really nervous. When we arrived at BBB there was a lot of people there! All of the "fairy Godmothers" were already working with girls and we couldn't bring the stroller in. We actually had to park it quite far away and it was a hike to get it back for AJ. (Another reason to get that sticker on the stroller letting people know its being used as a wheelchair!) While it might seem that I am going to be doing a little of complaining here I know that there are a lot of readers that are going on similar wish trips soon so this is also a way to help prepare them for their trips.

At the BBB things were quite busy. They sent Nana, myself and Angelina back to the dressing room to get Angelina in her gown. It was definitely apparent to everyone in the room that Angelina was there for her special wish and that she has a disability. So I was a bit ticked that they took us back to the waiting area. Where we stood (because there was no where to sit) for about 20 minutes until one of the cast members noticed Angelina still standing and asked some of the other Moms to move to let her sit down on the waiting bench. She was definitely tired and struggling to stand at that point and I can only hold 50lbs for so long... and my stroller was about half a mile away... Ugh.

Then we continued to wait....

Our appointment was about an HOUR late- an hour later.

Angelina (once sitting) was very patient and enjoyed seeing all of the other girls getting done over. She looked at the crowns and special "Sleeping beauty" things on the wall and talked about how exactly she wanted to be made over. It was nice to get this time with her. Meanwhile the other kids were sitting outside, not wanting to miss Angelina's big reveal and they were eating snacks. They had my Aunt Barb there to keep them company along with my hubby. But they were bored. It was Disney world and they were sitting on the ground outside waiting... not able to see Angelina and with no clue how much longer it was going to be. I should have planned this better. Maybe by asking someone when AJ would be done and letting everyone else go off to ride some rides etc.

Each and every morning when Angelina gets ready for school- her Dad "Introduces" her to everyone else. We have a drum roll and announce "Princess Angelina" is ready for the day etc. and we all clap and make a big deal. So we knew that this moment, her being made over, she was going to need the biggest entrance ever! (Thus why everyone wanted to be there.)

Angelina was able to choose what kind of "hairdo" she wanted.
They had a tight on top of the head princess bun.
Or fake hair...
in BLONDE or PINK
only.
(Disney's idea of pretty??
We say... where was the BROWN and BLACK hair?)
Anyhow...

Angelina got over it.
And went with PINK hair.

Fairy Godmother Wanda did an awesome job.
She knew just how to fix AJ's hair without
making it HURT. Which AJ hates.

They fixed her hair.
Nails
Makeup
Sparkle
Wishes
Awesome

She was a Pink Diva Princess
Wishes Come True!!

Fairy Godmothers went around to all the girls and showed them "extras" to see if they "wanted them". Of course all the girls wanted all the extras! Then they would say "is that OK mom?"
Well sheesh... what Mom could say NO at that point! So Angelina- and her neighboring make over Princess friends all went home with about $100 extra bucks of loot. (All the other Moms and I were chuckling about the whole process!) Angelina loved her gloves, wand, purse, crown etc. etc.

And her most favorite prized possession of the whole trip... THE SASH.

Yes, I cried.
She was so delighted.

She also went home with the gift bag of makeup and nail polish as well as a hair brush.

By the time we made her big "introduction" outside her siblings looked exhausted. But they clapped and played along. Not long after we headed to the Make a Wish lounge at Magic Kingdom. A plush wish room that is near first aid where Wish families can cool down, relax and have some cold water. (And feed baby Izzy and get her about a 20 minute nap!)

We met a ton of characters.
We had a ton of fun.

We lost Grace at least twice
and I had a "Mom moment"
just shortly before this picture
was taken where I gave the teens
a SPEECH for walking ahead
too fast and getting lost!

They did not pull the sword out of the stone.
But they sure did try.

What a magical day.
(That ended at midnight or so
with a face full of fudge and
a van full of sleeping kids!)
Happy Wish Day Princess Beanie!!
