So far so good.
Sophie has been able to keep it together
for a few days. We still feel relief-
and blessed- that she was honest
about all her allegations.
Yes- she had kept the lies going
and getting bigger and bigger
for 11 months.
For 11 months we didn't know
if she "realized" she was lying.
Or if she was delusional.
We had many therapists and professionals
evaluate her. And none could agree if she
was being purposeful in her attempt to
take down the family- or if she was
in an alter state of reality.
(We know her best and although we felt she was
LYING and AWARE of her LIES- because
she was so convincing- not all could agree.)
Anyhow- we are thankful that this might be
the time to actually be able to heal and move
forward and be able to have a decent relationship
with her. I know- cautiously optimistic. I am
protecting my heart!
(And my other kids and hubby too!)
But I have missed her so much.
And at least for now... she's back.
The real Sophie.
(Who has been almost non-existent for a YEAR+)
All these pictures were on our Christmas cards this year.
I love the one with Jude and Isaac.
It really captures their personalities well.
Jude with his "TUDE". (attitude)
He is screaming right this very minute.
(About cookies naturally!)
This morning I made the Pioneer woman's Cinnamon Roll dough. Tomorrow we will make LOTS of cinnamon rolls. (But I am making cream cheese frosting instead.) We are planning a big Christmas morning brunch. Right now the kids are decorating massive amounts of cut out cookies that we made yesterday. I know for a fact that I used so much food coloring making the icing that it will leave peoples mouths colorful after they eat them. (That's your warning folks!) I can fondly remember a Cookie Monster Cake when I was a child leaving everyone with BLUE mouths. I loved that cake.
How are your Pre Christmas preparations going?

Christmas preparations? Is that what we are supposed to be doing? Hmmm. Mostly dealing with behaviors and wondering why the twins would rather act out and be sitting in their rooms rather than playing, watching movies, baking cookies etc. I refuse to let them ruin the others' fun.
We got our tree up today... it's not decorated yet though! :)
We actually did a lot Christmas yesterday. My older sister came in for her celebration with us (today and tomorrow she's with her in-laws, and on Christmas she and her husband are flying to Europe!) so that was good. It was great seeing her. Since there's three of us girls and our parents, we did a significant portion of Christmas then, but there's more to come.
Great pics! But ... you are missing Dominick. Did he get lost in the shuffle? :)
Love the pic of Izzy and AJ (is that what she's going by now).
That cinnamon roll recipe is our family FAVORITE! Oh my! So good!
Hope your Christmas weekend is BLESSED!!!
Laurel :)
